Black Country Communion – Beggarman
Black Country Communion is a kick-ass blues rock supergroup featuring ex-DTer Derek Sherinian, Bonzo’s spawn Jason, former boy wonder Joe Bonamassa and the inimitable Glenn Hughes. This is a live performance of a track off their self-titled debut album found on the live album Live Over Europe

RIP Squeezebox
One of my favourite gadgets is the Squeezebox Touch. And then Logitech went and killed the brand.
At least there is no shortage of alternatives should my Touch give up the ghost. We have:
- The main competitor Sonos (pricey)
- The crowdfunded upstart Olive ONE (DAT INDUSTRIAL DESIGN, pretty pricey too, lots of ex-Squeezebox users involved)
- The lesser known cocktailAudio X10 (nice but pricey, again, and going by reviews the sound quality is lacking)
And perhaps others too.
There is one that stands out, the VortexBox replacement for the Squeezebox (under USD70!).
Hell, at these prices I might build 3 and give 2 away.

Ghost in the Shell: Arise Trailer
First off, the Major’s new character design looks better animated. I still don’t like it, but it’s not a train wreck. What’s with the Kaneda cosplay though?
The soundtrack… pretty bland. Cornelius ain’t no Kawai Kenji or Kanno Yoko. Still, not something I’ll mind as long as it’s serviceable.
Overall, not optimistic.

Best version ever.

Ghost in the Shell: Arise
A new Ghost in the Shell series has been announced. First reaction, “it’s about time!”. And then you see the character design of the Major on the official site. I don’t like it. Never mind Kamiyama Kenji (director of Stand Alone Complex) has confirmed he’s not involved in any capacity and Kanno Yoko isn’t handling the soundtrack. This collage should make it pretty clear why I’m not happy:
Kenji Kawai – Ghost in the Shell OST (Cinema Symphony)
Because I had danced, the beautiful lady was enchanted
Because I had danced, the shining moon echoed
Proposing marriage, the god shall descend
The night clears away and the chimera bird will sing
Live performance off Kenji Kawai’s Cinema Symphony DVD. Even better live.
