So here we are at a brand new season. I have even less time and patience nowadays, so I’m probably giving each series just one episode each. My judgement isn’t the best so I might be really off on some of these, but… meh. There’ll be some spoilers, obviously. Will be posting as I watch them.
Two years ago, a pair of idols, Tsubasa Kazanari and Kanade AmÅ, collectively known as ZweiWing, fought against an alien race known as Noise using armor known as Symphogear. To protect a girl named Hibiki Tachibana, who got severely wounded by the Noise, Kanade sacrificed herself. Two years later, as Tsubasa has fought the Noise alone, Hibiki ends up gaining the same power as Kanade.
A dash of Puella Magic Madoka Magica (it’s got a Meduka and a Homerun), something from Macross Frontier (only the songstresses are also the hotshots), a transformation sequence that vaguely reminds me of Mawaru Penguindrum (only low budget) and battle costumes from Infinite Stratos. Can’t say I’m too impressed with this first episode.
Verdict: unlikely to continue

A little confession. For the longest time, I have been dreaming of going on Jaws the ride at Universal Studios (Florida) but going to the States requires a lotta money. I was also disappointed when Singapore’s USS did not include this ride.
The ultimate heartbreak though, came when I learned last month that Jaws :The Ride, will be taken down and replaced by… *sigh* yet another Harry Potter thingy.
I just came across this posting from /film which, I guess is the next best thing to actually be on the actual ride itself.
To the younger crowd, the ride may look pretty lame. But personally I thought it looked pretty awesome. The performance by the staff, the ‘story’ of the cruise, all these seems really enjoyable. (another confession, I really enjoyed the Jurassic Park ride which is quite similar to this)
Alas, gone are the days where performance and gimmicks are replaced by 3D simulators ala Transformers Rides, which I feel just feels less personal.
Rest in Peace, Jaws. Though we never met. I already miss you.
I quote:
The project, which has been through several incarnations, is being shut down in the face of casting, script and budget issues. The production offices in Vancouver are being closed, with below-the-line talent and crew told to stop working. “Everybody is being sent home,†according to an insider.
Hardly a surprise. The whole idea is just harebrained.
A full length American Akira would probably be more entertaining.
Edit: looks like the project is still alive.
And not a silly FPS this time. Well I’m cautiously optimistic after all the mediocre spiritual sequels but Firaxis does have a great track record with strategy games (discounting the recent Civ 5, tsk).
Look out for the write up in the February issue of gameinformer.
OMFG !!!!!!! The artwork looks awesome!!!
Can we please have a decent MOTU reboot ala Thundercats !!?!?! Pretty please………….

Can’t believe I forgot to post this!!!
(Guess it’s still 1st Jan in some parts of the world.. haha!)
Came across this set of photographs featuring Frances Bean Cobain. Frances, whom if you haven’t figured out by now, is the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love.
